George C. Rockas, Esq.

Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

George Rockas is a member of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He is the conference planning chairman for the religious freedom conference the Order is sponsoring in Brussels on November 16 and 17, 2010.

Mr. Rockas is also a member of the Order's Legal Committee and the chairman of the Litigation Sub-Committee of the Legal Committee. In those capacities, over the last five years he has helped monitor legal issues facing the Greek Orthodox minority as well as other religious minorities in Turkey.

Mr. Rockas received his B.A. degree from Hamilton College and his J.D. and M.B.A. from Cornell University. He has been a lawyer for over 26 years specializing in civil litigation, with an emphasis on defending non-medical professionals such as lawyers and accountants in malpractice cases and defending insurers in insurance coverage disputes. He has tried a number of cases and argued a number of appeals in state and federal courts.

Since December 2000, he has been the managing partner of the Boston office of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP, a law firm with 21 offices in the United States and an office in London. Throughout his career, Mr. Rockas has been active in the American Bar Association (ABA). Recently, he served as the chairman of the ABA's Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee.
