As once again we rejoice in the Nativity of our Lord and Savior, we look back with gratitude to our triune God on a year full of activity on behalf of our Holy and Great Mother Church and our worldwide spiritual father, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, now entering his 29th year as first among equals.
In this joyful season of gift-giving, His All-Holiness has already given us an unsurpassed gift: our spiritual father, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, whose ministry in this country has been a wonderful blessing to us and has already been most impactful.
We also remember once again our brothers and sisters in Christ whose Christmas cannot be so joyful: those who are suffering for their Christian Faith. We Archons have continued to speak out about this persecution. We are still pursuing our many religious freedom initiatives. And above all, we are still working to secure the unfettered religious freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
This season is the perfect time to express our abiding gratitude to our spiritual fathers:
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew,
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America,
The venerable Metropolitans of the Holy Eparchial Synod, and
Fr. Alexander Karloutsos and our Brother Archons for their devotion to
the Holy and Great Mother Church of Constantinople.
Maria and I and our children and grandchildren wish our brother Archons and their beloved families a richly blessed and glorious Christmas.
