The Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios presided at the Investiture of twenty-four new Archons, from throughout the United States, following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 28, 2007, at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. During the solemn Archon Investiture Service Archbishop Demetrios presented each Archon with the Cross of St. Andrew along with the official Patriarchal Certificate specifying the offikion desiganted for each Archon by His All Holiness.
Hierarchs in attendance included His Eminence, Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta and His Grace, Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos. Dignitaries in attendance included, Ambassador of Greece Alexandros Mallias and Ambassador of Cyprus Andreas Kakouris.

Prior to the Investiture, a Doxology Service was held in Commemoration of the 67th Anniversary of OXI Day, the day the nation of Greece took the brave position by issuing a resounding “NO” – “OXI” – to the desire of fascism to subjugate and occupy Greece.
