On July 19, 2022, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew addressed a message to Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, expressing “the thanksgiving of our Church and us personally for the practical expression of your sentiments of concern for her,” and for the Order’s recent donation of $200,000 toward the needs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. This amount reflects $100,000 donations for both fiscal year 2021 and fiscal year 2022. The Order also recently made an additional donation of $100,000 for relief and rebuilding after the tragic fire at the Balikli Greek Hospital and Home for the Aged in the Zeytinburnu district of Constantinople, making for a grand total of $300,000. His All-Holiness invoked upon the families of members of the Order “the vigilant prayers and blessings of the holy Patriarchs through the centuries, who labored hard for the glory of the Mother Church, and the glorious Saints of Constantinople.”
To the honorable Dr. Anthony Limberakis, Archon Aktuarios of our Holy Great Church of Christ, President of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, beloved son of our Humility in the Lord, grace and peace from God.
By way of our prayerful Patriarchal Letters, we proceed to express to your beloved Honorable person the thanksgiving of our Church and us personally for the practical expression of your sentiments of concern for her, by your donation in the amount of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000), toward the needs of our Ecumenical Patriarchate. Your generous gesture became a reason of doxology of the Lord’s Name, from Whom every generous act and every perfect gift emanates, most wisely providing for the work of His Church and consenting to the goods in your noble heart.
Mindful of this genuine love of all the members of the Order of Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the United States of America and your wholehearted contribution, we are confident that this specific gesture of yours, as per the word of the Gospel, arrives at the Leader of our Faith our Lord Jesus Christ, as spiritual deposit in the heavenly funds and into eternity.
Fervently we pray that the vigilant prayers and blessings of the century-long holy Patriarchs, who labored hard for the glory of the Mother Church and the glorious Saints of Constantinople bestow upon you and your families abundant gifts in return, strength of body and soul, health, longevity and every blessing so that you may continue your lives and offering to the Church and to us in general.
As is the order, we attach a receipt for the above amount, we again thank you and invoke upon you the grace and abundant mercy of God.
