The January-February 2008 issue of ‘The Archon’ Newsletter is now available in PDF format on the Archon web site at archons.org/newsletter. This bi-monthly publication is the official newsletter of The Order of Saint Andrew and covers important information on the fight for religious freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, including summaries of meetings and activities that are held by the Archons.
This edition of ‘The Archon’ recaps the end of 2007, highlighting the Annual Archon Assembly held at the Hilton Hotel, New York, NY; the awarding of the Athenagoras Human Rights Award to His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios of America and the Investiture of Twenty-Four New Archons. The issue also reports on the Archons support for the Mother Church at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France and several meetings which were held between the Archons and Turkish government officials in Istanbul and Ankara. A registration form and schedule of activities for the upcoming Annual Archon Lenten Retreat in April is also available in this issue.
In addition to the standard “printed” edition which can be downloaded, an “interactive” version is also offered in PDF format. The interactive version is formatted to be viewed and read on-screen, which features a navigational menu which links to the articles throughout the issue. Various links have been created to guide the reader back to specific areas of the Archon web site where further information, photographs, and documents can be viewed in their entirety.
