Orientation Dinner Reception held for Archons-Elect

National Commander Anthony J. Limberakis, MD, National Council and Regional Commanders of The Order of Saint Andrew, make a special presentation to His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, on Friday evening, October 26, 2007, at the Hilton Hotel, New York, NY.

On Friday evening, October 26, 2007, the Annual Archon Banquet Weekend commenced with an Orientation Dinner held at the Hilton Hotel, New York, NY. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate was joined by the members of The Order of Saint Andrew, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Archons-elect, and the National Council and Regional Commanders.

His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas of the Carpatho-Russian Diocese and His Eminence, Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey were also in attendance. Archon National Commander Anthony J. Limberakis, MD extended a warm welcome to all of the gathered Archons and Archon-elect members and introduced the Principals of The Order of Saint Andrew.

The program continued with a presentation offered by National Commander Limberakis on the history of The Order of Saint Andrew, its role for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and the ‘humbling recognition and awesome responsibility’ the Archon-elect members will now face. Dr. Limberakis reminded the members that they are called to be “Defenders of the Faith” and their role as a member must now be raised with a greater responsibility and calling.

Archbishop Demetrios offers words of congratulations and encouragement to the Archons and those newly-elected members.

Following the National Commanders’ address, a special gift was presented to the Exarch, Archbishop Demetrios by the Archon National Council and Regional Commanders in recognition of His Eminence. Archbishop Demetrios thanked the members of The Order of Saint Andrew and offered words of encouragement to the Archon-elects.
