Special episode on the Sanctification of Holy Myrrh to air, April 30

The ‘Sanctification of the Holy Myrrh’ will air on Cablevision Channel #115 (Nassau County Cable System), Monday April 30, 2012 at 6:00 PM. The episode, filmed and edited by Archon Dimitrios Panagos of Greek American News, features the historic process of sanctification of the Holy Myrrh by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew during Holy Week (April 9-12) at the Phanar in Istanbul, with the participation of a host of Bishops and other clergy, as well as lay people who travelled from around the world. In the Orthodox Church, Holy Myrrh is sanctified to be used in the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Chrism (Confirmation). Thus it becomes a visible means of the bestowing of the gifts of the Holy Spirit upon those who are baptized.
