The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle to Host Historic International Conference In Berlin, Germany On Religious Freedom in Turkey

The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in cooperation with the Patriarchal Liaison Office to the European Union and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Germany will hold the 2nd Archon International Conference on Religious Freedom December 4-5, 2013 at the historic Adlon Hotel in Berlin, Germany. Taking place in the shadow of the Brandenburg Gate, the theme of the Conference is “Tearing Down Walls: Achieving Religious Equality in Turkey”.

Building on the foundation that was set during the 1st Archon International Conference on Religious Freedom at the European Parliament in Brussels in 2010, this extraordinary and watershed event will bring together a diverse and significant group of politicians, diplomats, human rights lawyers and advocates, scholars, religious leaders, journalists and members of minority communities; all to discuss ways in which the walls of religious intolerance, mistreatment and misunderstanding can come tumbling down and people of goodwill all over the world can unite together to live in peace and harmony.
